Mr. Haruki - son of green tea pioneers from Miyazaki

Mr. Haruki is the youngest tea farmer we work with. He has been running his own farm in Miyakonojou in Miyazaki Prefecture on Kyushu Island in southwestern Japan for 17 years. He is the fourth generation of tea farmers. About 100 years ago, his ancestors lived in Shizuoka on the main island of Japan. His grandfather, at the time a member of a group of tea masters, moved to Kyushu to establish and develop a "modern" tea industry.

Harukiさん runs the tea farm together with his wife, his parents and his younger brother. Together work firmly only 5 people to produce healthy and high quality Sencha. Mr. Haruki also completely avoids the use of pesticides, herbicides or chemical fertilizers. His green tea is characterized by a special freshness and a beautiful light green color.

You can order the delicious Sencha in our store. Shortly after its arrival, we grabbed Mr. Haruki's Sencha and made a short video of the brewing. There is also one or the other DIY type for the preparation of Japanese green tea. Check it out...
