Lovingly handcrafted set of two cups for your favorite drink. Produced by the small pottery Yamajun-Seito from Toki in Gifu Prefecture, Japan. The set consists of a female & a male Tanuki - unfortunately only very limited available, because the demand is extremely high & each cup is produced by hand.

Eiko Ito and her family of four painstakingly produce the Tanuki cups by hand. The pottery with the tanuki motif is now known throughout Japan & extremely popular. Orders need more than a year in advance at the small pottery.
Tanukis (狸, "tanuki") are considered tricky in Japanese folklore, like to dress up and can even turn into magical tea kettles. So the little prankster fits perfectly as a motif on our teacups.
