Lovingly handcrafted mug for your favorite drink. Produced by the small pottery Yamajun-Seito from Toki in Gifu Prefecture, Japan. We are the only store in Germany to offer this tea mug. Demand is extremely high in Japan and Europe, which is why quantities are always very limited.

Eiko Ito and her family of four
produce the Tanuki mugs in painstaking manual work. The ceramic with the tanuki motif is now well-known and extremely popular throughout Japan. Orders need more than a year in advance from the small pottery.
Tanukis (狸, "tanuki")
are considered tricky in Japanese folklore, like to disguise themselves and can even transform themselves into magical tea kettles. This makes the little prankster the perfect motif for our tea mugs.
