In collaboration with the tea farmer
We source this Sencha green tea directly from a tea farmer in Kobayashi, Kyushu, Japan. Through our ongoing communication with Takayuki-san, we are able to ensure the highest quality, pesticide-free production, and sustainability.
Fresh & full-flavored
Sencha No. 1 is full-bodied, sweet, and fruity. As soon as you open the package, a fresh, aromatic scent wafts out. This freshness is possible because the Sencha is flown directly from the tea farm to us in Germany without any detours.
-
This loose Sencha has a fruity, sweet and strong taste. It smells very fruity after infusion and has a deep green color. Compared to our Sencha No. 2, it is somewhat fruitier and more intense.
-
This Sencha comes from the small town of Kobayashi in Miyazaki Prefecture on the island of Kyushu. Mr. Takayuki runs the farm without the use of pesticides in the 3rd generation. In 2021, he won one of the Youth Farmer's Conference's prestigious awards for his work.
-
The Sencha is of course grown completely pesticide-free and without chemical fertilizers. We have also had this checked externally - you can see the pesticide report in the picture gallery above. So you can be sure that our tea is 100% free of pollutants.
Mr. Takayuki uses tea bushes of the Yabukita cultivar for his fruity Sencha. Don't know what to do with it? We explain it in our FAQ .
-
1-2 teaspoons per cup / 70 degrees / 60 seconds
The loose tea is infused in a pot with a strainer. Alternatively, you can use fillable disposable tea bags. It is a sweet, aromatic and smooth green tea and tastes both beginners and green tea connoisseurs. Our tutorial video below shows you how to make it easily.
More infusions
It can, like any good Sencha, of course, be infused several times. So you have not only longer something from the tea but it also dissolves more and more healthy substances from the tea. Here you can try different temperatures and infusion times to find out what you like best.
Cold infusion
Our Senchas are also particularly suitable for cold brewing: simply pour cold water over twice the amount of Sencha and leave to infuse for 5-10 minutes. The delicious refreshment is ready.
Our tutorial video below shows you this simple and super refreshing preparation method.
Storage
The Sencha comes in a sealed and resealable flavor bag. The removal is thus super easy and the tea stays fresh for a long time.
NEUE ERNTE AB SOFORT VERFÜGBAR! 💚🍵 Ausgezeichnet mit 2 Sternen bei den Great Taste Awards 2023 in London 🌟🌟
This highly aromatic & full-bodied Kabusecha green tea from the first 2025 harvest comes from Mr. Iwakura from Shimada (Shizuoka). The new harvest is particularly impressive due to its stronger sweetness and perfect balance. Due to its long shading with nets & its particularly natural cultivation, it is very aromatic, unique & full-bodied in taste. The natural fertilization with tea grass (Chagusaba) is a traditional method from Shizuoka Prefecture and ensures a broad, complex aroma. Despite its intense, aromatic flavor, this top-quality green tea has no astringency and is not at all bitter. Like all our green teas, it is of course completely pesticide-free.

Yama no Kaze means mountain breeze and stands for the fresh, flowery aroma of this unique Sencha green tea. Subtle sweetness, notes of wild herbs and a clear, long-lasting finish with distinct umami bear witness to the special production of this green tea: after harvesting, the tea is left to mature in bamboo baskets over mountain spring water to produce its unique aroma, which is reminiscent of the floweriness of a light oolong tea. A hand-picked Sencha green tea specialty with a unique character, highly aromatic taste and airy freshness.

Soft, full-bodied, aromatic and slightly sweet top-quality green tea with Kyushu-typical fruitiness and Shizuoka-typical umami. The young tea farmer Akane San runs the tea farm together with her family directly in the foothills of the active Sakurajima volcano. A Kabusecha that is already in great demand in Japan due to its strong umami.

Harumidori means “spring green” and is the name of the tea plant variety (cultivar) used for this top-grade Sencha green tea. Very high umami, intense sweetness, and a soft, mellow character are actually typical of shaded Gyokuro, yet the distinctive aroma of this Harumidori Sencha does not result from shading. The extremely rare cultivar, hand-picked by tea farmer Nobuyuki San, and a light aging process create the Gyokuro-like flavor along with a slightly sweet fruitiness. For anyone who loves the high umami and sweetness of Gyokuro but doesn’t want to sacrifice the freshness and fruitiness typical of Sencha, this tea is just right. Sencha Harumidori is a hand-picked Sencha green tea specialty with an incomparable character, aroma, and flavor.
Variety: Sencha (loose-leaf green tea, unshaded, lightly aged)
Characteristics: high umami, sweetness, buttery smoothness, fresh and fruity

Hana (花) means flower or blossom in Japanese and here the name says it all: a flowery, tangy top-quality green tea with good umami and a slightly grassy, fruity aftertaste. The tea is as natural as possible for the most natural taste: roughly sorted, some tea blossoms or stems are included & the tea leaves have an almost wild appearance. The producer is Ueda San from the small town of Wazuka in Kyoto Prefecture. The fresh floral aroma is reminiscent of Chinese oolong, while the infusion has a sweet fragrance. The best of both worlds: prepared with water at 80°C, the sencha is reminiscent of an oolong - at 60-70°C it is more like a mild Japanese sencha.

Origin: Wazuka (Kyoto), Japan
