This highly aromatic & full-bodied Kabusecha green tea from the first 2025 harvest comes from Mr. Iwakura from Shimada (Shizuoka). The new harvest is particularly impressive due to its stronger sweetness and perfect balance. Due to its long shading with nets & its particularly natural cultivation, it is very aromatic, unique & full-bodied in taste. Soft, full-bodied, aromatic and slightly sweet top-quality green tea with Kyushu-typical fruitiness and Shizuoka-typical umami. The young tea farmer Akane San runs the tea farm together with her family directly in the foothills of the active Sakurajima volcano. Akane San trained in Shizuoka and is now gradually taking over her father's tea farm. Completely atypical for a green tea, which is grown using only natural fertilizers, Kabusecha has a very intense taste with a strong umami without any bitterness or grassiness. A Kabusecha that is already in great demand in Japan due to its strong umami.

Harumidori means “spring green” and is the name of the tea plant variety (cultivar) used for this top-grade Sencha green tea. Very high umami, intense sweetness, and a soft, mellow character are actually typical of shaded Gyokuro, yet the distinctive aroma of this Harumidori Sencha does not result from shading. The extremely rare cultivar, hand-picked by tea farmer Nobuyuki San, and a light aging process create the Gyokuro-like flavor along with a slightly sweet fruitiness. For anyone who loves the high umami and sweetness of Gyokuro but doesn’t want to sacrifice the freshness and fruitiness typical of Sencha, this tea is just right. Akane San has crafted a black tea from the famous Benifuuki cultivar with a completely surprising flavor profile—one that is virtually unmatched in terms of sweetness and full-bodied richness. Yama no Kaze means “mountain breeze” and captures the fresh, floral aroma of this unique Sencha green tea. Subtle sweetness, notes of wild herbs, and a clear, long-lasting finish with distinct umami reflect the special production process of this green tea: after harvesting, the tea is left to mature overnight in bamboo baskets over mountain spring water to develop its unique aroma, reminiscent of the floral notes of a light oolong tea. This type of Sencha is also called “Kaori Ryokucha” because of its floral aroma (香り/Kaori). Hana (花) means flower or blossom in Japanese and here the name says it all: a flowery, tangy top-quality green tea with good umami and a slightly grassy, fruity aftertaste. The tea is as natural as possible for the most natural taste: roughly sorted, some tea blossoms or stems are included & the tea leaves have an almost wild appearance. The producer is Ueda San from the small town of Wazuka in Kyoto Prefecture. The fresh floral aroma is reminiscent of Chinese oolong, while the infusion has a sweet fragrance. The best of both worlds: prepared with water at 80°C, the sencha is reminiscent of an oolong - at 60-70°C it is more like a mild Japanese sencha.

The very first green tea of the new 2026 season comes from Mr. Eiichi on the island of Tanegashima, in the far south of Japan. Along with the ➡️SHINCHA MIDORI, it is flown directly to us from the tea farm. This guarantees maximum freshness but also means availability is extremely limited! Thanks to the Shōju cultivar (tea bush variety), this is an incredibly smooth, naturally sweet Shincha green tea with deep umami, perfectly balanced body, and a fresh aroma. As soon as you open the package, a scent reminiscent of a fresh spring breeze and light fruitiness wafts toward you.

A unique shincha that can only come from Tanegashima. The Shoju cultivar is found exclusively on Tanegashima and was developed by Eiichi Matsushita and the Tanegashima Tea Association. Naturally, Eiichi-san uses absolutely no pesticides or chemical fertilizers. Thanks to its high quality, this green tea can be steeped at least four times! 2x 50g SHINCHA HAYAI & 1x 50g SHINCHA MIDORI at a special price. Ultra-fresh, flown in directly from the tea farm in Japan. Both Shincha green teas come from Mr. Eiichi on the island of Tanegashima in the very south of Japan. We are the only shop in the world to offer this tea from both cultivars (Shoju & Tsuyu Midori). A unique aroma and a perfect balance of freshness, umami, body, and sweetness make these ultra-limited Shincha green teas something truly special. Of course, Eiichi San completely avoids pesticides and chemical fertilizers. Due to their high quality, both green teas can be steeped 5–7 times! We will only have an extremely limited quantity in stock, as Mr. Eiichi produces only a limited amount each year, and the SHINCHA MIDORI, in particular, is available exclusively from us.

This Shincha from the new 2026 season comes from Mr. Sugita in Makinohara, Shizuoka, in the heart of Japan. The extended steaming of the green tea, known as Fukamushi, gives the Shincha a deep, sweet flavor and a fruity aroma from the tea leaves. The very fine and broken tea leaves give the infusion a vibrant green color. Fertilization with home-grown tea grass further enhances the sweetness and depth of flavor of the green tea. If you steep the Shincha multiple times, you can fully appreciate the flavor nuances of the Fukamushi Shincha: ranging from sweet to spicy-umami to light and fresh. We currently have only a very limited quantity in stock, as Mr. Sugita produces only a limited amount each year and his Fukamushi green tea is very popular in Japan.

A special, limited-edition version of our popular Sencha N°1. Unlike the regular Sencha N°1, it is shaded with nets and hand-picked. It is also steamed slightly longer for greater balance. It has an intensely fruity fragrance, a soft, almost milky flavor, and a beautifully rich umami profile. It is even more aromatic and full-bodied than our popular Sencha N°1.
