Genmaicha

Genmaicha
This sweet Genmaicha green tea comes from Mr. Toshimi from Kirishima(Kagoshima) from the southern island of Kyushu, Japan. Due to the many popped rice grains, it is not only a visual eye-catcher, but also tastes intensely sweet with light roasted aromas and a fresh green tea note. And it's all caffeine-free - ideal for evening enjoyment, with dinner, or for people who are sensitive to caffeine. Like all our green teas, it is absolutely pesticide-free.

This loose Genmaicha has an intensely sweet, slightly spicy flavor. It smells slightly toasty after infusion and has a bright yellow color. Compared to our Senchas, it is slightly sweeter, slightly spicy and hardly grassy. Particularly practical: it contains no caffeine and can thus be drunk without hesitation even by sensitive people as well as in the evening or with meals.

This Sencha comes from Kirishima in Kagoshima Prefecture on the island of Kyushu. Mr. Toshimi runs his farm, which covers over 60 hectares of tea fields, without the use of pesticides, herbicides or chemical fertilizers. Toshimi Nishi is already well-known in Europe as a producer of Gyokuro, Matcha and high-quality Sencha. His Genmaicha is now celebrating its exclusive premiere here at SHO CHA. You can get an impression of the tea farm in the video below.

The Genmaicha is of course grown completely pesticide-free and without chemical fertilizers. We have also had this checked externally - you can see the pesticide report in the picture gallery above. So you can be sure that our tea is 100% free of harmful substances.
Mr. Toshimi uses tea bushes of the Yabukita cultivar for his fruity Genmaicha. Don't know what to do with it? We explain it in our FAQ.

2-3 teaspoons per cup / 75-90 degrees / 60-90 seconds
The loose tea is infused in a pot with a strainer. Alternatively, you can use fillable disposable tea bags. It is a sweet, aromatic and smooth green tea and tastes both beginners and green tea connoisseurs. Our tutorial video below shows you how to make it easily.
More infusions
It can, like any good Genmaicha, of course, be infused several times. So you have not only longer something from the tea but it also dissolves more and more healthy substances from the tea. Here you can try different temperatures and infusion times to find out what you like best.
Cold infusion
Just like our Senchas, our Genmaicha is particularly suitable for cold preparation: simply pour cold water over twice the amount of Genmaicha and leave to infuse for 10-15 minutes. Then stir briefly and the delicious & light refreshment is ready.
Our tutorial video below shows you this simple and super refreshing preparation method.
Storage
The Sencha comes in a sealed and resealable flavor bag. The removal is thus super easy and the tea stays fresh for a long time.
