The traditional Kyusu teapot is handmade from pure light natural clay and signed by hand on the base.
The mineral-rich natural clay binds bitter substances in the tea, making it milder and softer. The hand-pierced ceramic strainer retains both large-leaf green tea and, for example, fine Fukamushi Sencha.
The lid is ground to fit the teapot perfectly. This production method, together with the fine, shiny partial finish, shows the high quality and dedication in the manufacturing process.
Tokoname has been known worldwide for over 1000 years for its natural clay pottery. Throughout the city you can admire sights made of clay.
When cleaning our original Japanese teapots, you should only use water and no cleaning agents. The clay inside the kyusu could otherwise absorb unwanted substances or damage the teapot.
