This Matcha is even sweeter, more aromatic and creamier compared to our Matcha No.2. It has a fresh, sweet aroma and a finely balanced taste with a pleasant umami. With its intense aroma and deep green color, this matcha is of the highest tea ceremony quality. This is achieved not only by shading the tea plants for a long time before harvesting, but in particular by selecting the youngest and most tender tea leaves exclusively from the first plucking and careful further processing.
The matcha powder is very finely ground. As a result, the powder dissolves easily in water and produces a soft creaminess - ideal for matcha beginners. It is not necessary to sieve the matcha before preparation. It is also ideal for making healthy matcha ice cream or milkshakes. Just give it a try! -
Mr. Yoshiharu Matsushita has been running his organic tea farm in Kakegawa City in Shizuoka for 40 years. He also has a small café there where he prepares and serves his own teas. You can find out more about his story in our introduction video below.

½-1 teaspoon per cup or bowl / 70-80 degrees
Due to its easy solubility, matcha can also be prepared by beginners without hesitation. Due to its special mildness, it can also be dosed higher & even drunk as koicha. A chasen (茶筅), a matcha whisk made from bamboo, is normally used. The whisk is used to mix the powder with the water and whisk the matcha until frothy.
Pre-workout drink
We also like to use our matcha as a pre-workout drink or wake-up drink in the morning before training or the office. Simply place 2 teaspoons in a shaker (with a sieve) and shake up with warm water, milk or plant milk and sweeten to taste.
Storage
The tea comes in a sealed and resealable flavor bag. To make it easier to remove the matcha and to keep it fresh for longer, we recommend our practical matcha tin. -
The matcha is very fresh and fruity and complies with the JP-BIO standards applicable in Japan. Mr Yoshiharu grows his tea plants without pesticides or chemical fertilizers. We have also had this checked again externally - you can see the pesticide report in the picture gallery above.
Mr. Yoshiharu uses tea bushes of the Saemidori cultivar for his mild matcha. These tea bushes are less common as they are more sensitive than Yabukita. However, they are much milder and sweeter in taste. Don't know what to do with them? We explain it to you in our FAQ.
