The bright green color already gives it away: this matcha is of the highest quality. But it is its unique aroma, reminiscent of cocoa, its sweet and smooth taste and the complete absence of grassiness, acidity or bitterness that make Amai Matcha our best matcha tea.
Sweet matcha from Wazuka in the tea-growing region of Uji
Our Uji Matcha is not only ground in Uji, like many other Uji Matchas, but is also grown and harvested in the Uji tea garden in Wazuka by Nakai San. His tea fields are nestled between forests in the heart of Uji and are therefore well protected from harmful environmental influences.
🧏♂️ WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT? Only our matcha grown and processed in Uji has the typical sweetness, mildness and full-bodied aroma of Uji matcha. Matcha from Kagoshima or Fukuoka is not comparable in terms of quality.

This matcha is slightly sweet, wonderfully creamy and soft, with an aroma and taste reminiscent of cocoa. It has a fresh, sweet aroma and an intensely aromatic taste with strong umami. With its intense aroma and deep green color, this matcha is of the highest ceremonial (tea ceremony) quality and the best matcha we have ever tasted. This is achieved not only by the long shading of the tea plants before harvesting, but in particular by the exclusive use of the youngest Shincha tea leaves.
The Matcha powder is very finely ground. This means that the powder dissolves easily in water - ideal for matcha beginners. It is therefore not necessary to sieve the matcha before preparation. It is also ideal for preparing your daily matcha latte. Be sure to give it a try! -
This matcha tea comes from the small village of Wazuka in Kyoto Prefecture in the heart of Japan. Mr. Nakai took over the family business from his father in 2006. Although his father wanted to continue the business conventionally, his son has spoken out in favour of cultivation without the use of pesticides, herbicides or chemical fertilizers & has since converted the entire tea farm to organic cultivation.

Koicha
This matcha is particularly suitable for preparation as koicha ("thick matcha"). If you use a high dose of matcha (at least 3-4 matcha spoons), its chocolaty aroma and silky-smooth taste come into their own.Usucha
The usual preparation as "thin matcha" also works great. Simply use 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon or 1-2 matcha spoons per 100 ml of water.
Koicha Latte
You've never drunk matcha latte like this before: whisk at least 3-4 matcha spoons with approx. 70 ml of water and then top up with milk. Sweeten to taste - an absolute delight.Storage
The Matcha tea comes in a sealed and resealable flavor bag. The removal is super easy and the tea stays fresh for a long time.
