+ Features

Compared to our Matcha No.2, this Matcha is a bit stronger and has a perfect balance between slightly tangy and sweet. The high quality is noticeable in the intense aroma and rich deep green color. This is only achieved by the long shading of the tea plants before harvesting, the selection of tea leaves exclusively from the first harvest and the careful processing.

The Matcha powder is very finely ground. Thus, the powder dissolves easily in water - ideal even for Matcha beginners. In addition, it is therefore ideally suited for the production of healthy matcha ice cream or milkshakes. Just try it out!

+ Producer

Mr. Hasegawa has been operating his tea farm in Shizuoka since 1979. Most of his tea is for the local market and only a small portion is available for export. Also check out our introduction video of Mr. Hasegawa, below.

+ Cultivation

The matcha is naturally grown completely pesticide-free and without chemical fertilizers. Mr. Hasegawa produces almost exclusively for local customers and therefore wants to work as pollution-free as possible. He emphasizes this again in our short portrait video below. We also had Mr. Hasegawa's matcha externally tested again - you can see the pesticide report on the product page.

Mr. Hasegawa uses for his delicious Matcha tea bushes of the cultivar Yabukita as well as Saemidori. Thus, he combines the strong taste of the Yabukita bush with the mild sweetness of the Saemidori bush. Never heard of cultivers? We explain it in our FAQ.

+ Preparation & Storage

1/2-1 teaspoon per cup or bowl / 70-80 degrees

The matcha can also be drunk by beginners without hesitation due to its easy solubility. Normally, a Chasen (茶筅), a matcha whisk made of bamboo, is used. The whisk is used to mix the powder with the water and whisk the matcha until frothy. Alternatively, you can also use a small whisk or milk frother.

Superfood ingredient

Whether in musli, in yogurt or as a smoothie or shake - with our matcha you have a great ingredient that not only gives an interesting color, but above all a great taste and really healthy.

Storage

The tea comes in a sealed and resealable flavor bag. To remove the Matcha easier and so that it stays fresh even longer, we recommend our practical Matcha tin.
