+ Features
This Matcha is (by the way, typical for real Japanese BIO Matcha) somewhat milder and sweeter compared to our Matcha No.1. It has a strong sweet smell and a soft taste. With its intense aroma and rich green color, this Matcha also belongs to the highest quality. This is only achieved by the long shading of the tea plants before harvesting, the selection of tea leaves exclusively from the first plucking and the careful processing.
The Matcha powder is very finely ground. Thus, the powder dissolves easily in water - ideal even for Matcha beginners. In addition, it is therefore ideally suited for the production of healthy matcha ice cream or milkshakes. Just try it out!
+ Producer
Mr. Yoshiharu Matsushita has been running his organic tea farm in Kakegawa City in Shizuoka for 40 years. In addition, he has a small cafe there where he prepares and serves his own teas. Learn more about his story in our introduction video.
+ Cultivation
The matcha is very fresh and fruity and complies with the JP-BIO standards in force in Japan. Of course, Mr. Yoshiharu also grows without pesticides. We have also had this checked externally - you can see the pesticide report in the picture gallery above.
For his mild matcha, Mr. Yoshiharu uses tea bushes of the cultivar Saemidori. These tea bushes are less widespread because they are more sensitive than Yabukita. On the other hand, they are much milder and sweeter in taste. You don't know what to do with it? We explain it to you in our FAQ.
+ Preparation & Storage
1/2-1 teaspoon per cup or bowl / 70-80 degrees
The matcha can also be drunk by beginners without hesitation due to its easy solubility. Normally, a Chasen (茶筅), a matcha whisk made of bamboo, is used. The whisk is used to mix the powder with the water and whisk the matcha until frothy. Alternatively, you can also use a small whisk or milk frother.
Pre-workout drink
We also like to use our Matchas as a pre-workout drink or wake-up drink in the morning before training or office work. To do this, 2 teaspoons are simply placed in the shaker (with strainer) and shaken with warm water. Then simply add cold water or juice and you have a super energy boost.
Storage
The tea comes in a sealed and resealable flavor bag. To remove the Matcha easier and so that it stays fresh even longer, we recommend our practical Matcha tin.
