This full-bodied & slightly sweet Kabusecha green tea from the first harvest 2024 comes from Mr. Iwakura from Shimada (Shizuoka). Due to its long shading with nets, it is very intensely aromatic, has a deep umami & is full-bodied in taste. The natural fertilization with tea grass (Chagusaba) is a traditional method from Shizuoka and ensures a broad, complex aroma. It is also an unsorted tea (aracha). It takes a lot of experience to process an unsorted tea to such a flavorful quality. Iwakura-san has therefore steamed the kabusecha longer (chuumushi) than our senchas. Despite its intense, aromatic flavor, it has no astringency and is not at all bitter. Like all our green teas, it is of course absolutely pesticide-free.

Fine top-quality green tea grown by Shinichi San in Fujieda, Shizuoka 🇯🇵 Traditionally shaded with straw mats for 30 days (こもと被覆栽培) for a soft full-bodied flavor, deep umami, noble sweetness and fine aroma. The tea leaves come from the Yabukita cultivar and the very rare Asahi cultivar - this is usually used for the production of very high-quality matcha.

Mildly aromatic black tea from Yamamoto San in Hamamatsu, Japan. Sweetly fragrant with a sweet, full-bodied aroma and typical reddish-brown, radiant cup color.

Koucha 紅茶 literally means "red tea" in Japan and refers to the reddish color of the cup. In contrast to black teas from India or Kenya, this Japanese black tea is sweeter, has hardly any bitter notes and a good umami.
