Original Japanese Kyusu teapot, handmade from natural clay in Tokoname, for the preparation of all types of green tea such as Sencha, Kabusecha, Gyokuro or even Chinese teas. The natural clay is particularly rich in minerals and makes the tea milder & more aromatic. Made of clay integrated tea strainer - available with additional removable stainless steel tea strainer.

The traditional Kyusu teapot is handmade from pure red natural clay. The color gradient ranges from deep dark blue to black to the typical reddish tone color.
The mineral-rich natural clay binds bitter substances in the tea, making it milder and softer. The hand-pierced ceramic strainer retains both large-leaf green tea and, for example, fine Fukamushi Sencha.
The optional removable stainless steel tea strainer allows the tea to stay in the pot longer without the tea continuing to steep. Optimal for enjoying tea alone.
The lid is ground to fit precisely on the teapot. The manufacturing method shows the high quality and dedication in the production.
Tokoname has been known worldwide for over 1000 years for its natural clay pottery. Throughout the city you can admire sights made of clay.
When cleaning, you should only use water & no detergents. The clay inside the kyusu could otherwise absorb unwanted substances or damage the bowl.
