This highly aromatic & full-bodied Kabusecha green tea from the first 2025 harvest comes from Mr. Iwakura from Shimada (Shizuoka). The new harvest is particularly impressive due to its stronger sweetness and perfect balance. 🌟 New 2026 harvest has arrived 💚 Awarded at the 2025 Great Taste Awards in London.
Soft, full-bodied, aromatic and slightly sweet top-quality green tea with Kyushu-typical fruitiness and Shizuoka-typical umami. The young tea farmer Akane San runs the tea farm together with her family directly in the foothills of the active Sakurajima volcano. Akane San trained in Shizuoka and is now gradually taking over her father's tea farm. Completely atypical for a green tea, which is grown using only natural fertilizers, Kabusecha has a very intense taste with a strong umami without any bitterness or grassiness. A Kabusecha that is already in great demand in Japan due to its strong umami.
Variety: Kabusecha ( semi-shaded)

Sweet, very full-bodied and smooth with a pleasant umami flavor and light notes of vanilla and sweet pastries. Virtually no astringency or bitter notes, making it one of the highest-quality green teas in our lineup. Strictly limited! Produced by Okada-san in the small village of Wazuka in the Uji tea-growing region. The Goko tea plant variety is grown exclusively in Uji, Kyoto, and is used almost exclusively for matcha tea; as a sencha, it is therefore one of the rarest green teas in Japan. The tea plants are harvested entirely by hand and nurtured with fertilizer made from the farm’s own compost.
Variety: Sencha (loose-leaf Goko green tea, unshaded)
Characteristics: sweetish, full-bodied and smooth, notes of vanilla, slightly mineral and spicy, scent of conifers, very easy to drink

Harumidori means “spring green” and is the name of the tea plant variety (cultivar) used for this top-grade Sencha green tea. Very high umami, intense sweetness, and a soft, mellow character are actually typical of shaded Gyokuro, yet the distinctive aroma of this Harumidori Sencha does not result from shading. The extremely rare cultivar, hand-picked by tea farmer Nobuyuki San, and a light aging process create the Gyokuro-like flavor along with a slightly sweet fruitiness. For anyone who loves the high umami and sweetness of Gyokuro but doesn’t want to sacrifice the freshness and fruitiness typical of Sencha, this tea is just right. Sencha Harumidori is a hand-picked Sencha green tea specialty with an incomparable character, aroma, and flavor.
Variety: Sencha (loose-leaf green tea, unshaded, lightly aged)
Characteristics: high umami, sweetness, buttery smooth, fresh and fruity
