Message from the tea farmer

Only the youngest and most tender leaves are hand-picked early in the morning to ensure optimal freshness. This tea is grown entirely without fertilizers and subtly tones down the umami flavor to highlight the floral aroma. This delicate green tea has a long finish with a clean aftertaste.

Floral and aromatic

Tezumi is briefly steamed using the “Asamushi” method to stop oxidation and preserve its bright green color and fresh flavor. The delicate tea leaves are rolled and then dried to intensify the flavor. To fully enjoy the fresh Shincha aroma, the tea is heated only very gently.

A passion for tea growing

Susumu San quit his job as a manager at a large tea company in 2023 to pursue his passion for growing & selecting green tea. He bought an abandoned tea farm in Kawane and now uses his knowledge & years of experience to produce his own tea. He does not use any pesticides, herbicides or chemical fertilizers.

Harvesting by hand is very laborious, but produces an exquisite green tea of the highest quality.
